Founded by Akshat Kumar, Phonix Lab operates at the intersection of computational phonetics, signal processing, and applied machine learning. We pursue a clear conviction: systems that touch consequential decisions must be built around real operational constraints from day one — not retrofitted to handle them later.
That means designing for low-quality recordings, multilingual and code-switched speech, competing speakers, degraded channels, and controlled networks. It means building tools that turn an unmanageable audio backlog into ordered, reviewable, analyst-ready evidence.

How we actually work.
We train and assess models against the full messiness of operational audio — degraded channels, code-switching, acoustic interference, heavy dialect variation, and changing collection conditions. Clean lab benchmarks are a starting point, not an acceptance criterion.

Human review, configurable thresholds, and full source-context access are built into the workflow — not bolted on afterward to satisfy a compliance checkbox.
