Cookie Policy.

Effective date: 13 July 2026. We keep our cookie use minimal by design. This page explains exactly what we store, why, and how you control it.

What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage is a similar browser mechanism that stores data locally without an expiry date unless cleared. Both allow a website to remember information about your visit — from your preferences to session state.

Cookies and local storage can be first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by external services embedded in the site). They can be session-based (cleared when you close the browser) or persistent (stored until their expiry or until you clear them manually).

What this website actually uses

This website is intentionally minimal in its use of browser storage. We use one item of local storage:

Essential / Local Storage

cookie_consent

Stores your response to the cookie consent banner — "accept" or "essential only". This prevents the notice from reappearing on every page. Set when you interact with the banner. Persists until you clear your browser storage. Contains no personal information.

That is it. No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking. No social media pixels. No user profiling of any kind.

Essential-only operation

The single storage item above is used to operate the consent mechanism itself — it is how the site remembers that you have already made a choice. This is sometimes called a "functional" or "strictly necessary" cookie because without it, the consent banner would appear on every single page, which would be worse for you.

We do not gate any website functionality behind cookie acceptance. Choosing "Essential only" does not break anything. The website works the same either way — the only difference is whether we would be able to introduce optional analytics in future, which you would need to separately consent to.

What we do not use

To be explicit, this website does not use:

  • Analytics cookies — no Google Analytics, Matomo, Mixpanel, or equivalent
  • Advertising cookies — no ad networks, retargeting pixels, or conversion trackers
  • Social media trackers — no Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or Twitter/X tracking
  • Session recording — no Hotjar, FullStory, or similar session replay tools
  • Fingerprinting — no device or browser fingerprinting techniques
  • Third-party embeds — no YouTube iframes, external fonts loaded from third parties (fonts are declared in CSS, loaded from Google Fonts CDN only)

A note on Google Fonts

This site loads typefaces (Manrope, DM Mono, Playfair Display) via a CSS import from Google Fonts. This involves a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address as part of standard server logging. Google Fonts does not use cookies for tracking. If this concerns you, you can load the page offline or through a privacy-focused browser that blocks external font requests — the site will fall back to system fonts.

Your control

You have full control over browser storage on your device. Here is how to manage it:

Clear our preference storage

To reset your cookie preference so the banner appears again, clear your browser's local storage for this domain. In most browsers, go to Developer Tools → Application → Local Storage → right-click and clear. The consent banner will reappear on your next visit.

Block cookies entirely

Most modern browsers let you block all cookies and local storage from specific sites or globally. This may cause the consent banner to appear on every visit, but the site will remain fully functional. Instructions vary by browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Future changes

If we introduce optional analytics or any other non-essential cookie or storage in the future, we will update this policy before enabling them, display a new consent banner, and only proceed with your explicit consent where required by applicable law. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
